The next UB ALA meeting will be Monday, March 30 at 5:15 in Koran A/V (5th floor of the law library) in Room 533. We will be announcing the winning tote bag design, discussing the Teen Book Festival and the upcoming Bake Sale (Wednesday, April 15). We will also be accepting nominations for officers (President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary) for next semester. Interested in running for ALA exec board but can’t make the meeting? Just send email@example.com an email saying which positions you’re interested in! Hope to see you on Monday.
Relay for Life was a great success — Librarians for Life made over $600 to aid in the fight against cancer. In addition, while most teams left the Relay around midnight, the librarians stayed for the entire night! Thank you to everyone who supported our team and the American Cancer Society.
A librarian in the Buffalo Public Schools will be moving to a new school and needs help packing the current library the last week of March/the first week of April and needs help unpacking in the new library the week of April 13th.
Also, the Seymour Library in Brockport is having a fundraising event called “After Hours @ the Library.” The purpose of the event is to purchase books, computers, software and other materials for “The Tot Spot,” a new children’s early literacy area. It will be a fun event with food, wine, and music. Seymour is a wonderful community library and all of its librarians are proud UB graduates. Volunteers are needed for a variety of areas including check in, wine pouring, food station, set up and clean up activities. The event is Saturday, March 28 from 7-10 pm.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more information or are interested in volunteering.
