The end is near…

…The end of the semester, that is. Here’s what’s going on:

Final UB ALA Meeting of the Semester will be December 1 at 6:00pm in 553 Baldy. On the agenda are elections for next semester, so if you are interested in running but can’t make the meeting, please email us at ubstudentala[at]gmail[dot]com. If you’re coming to the meeting and want to run, be prepared to give us a little info about yourself and why you would make a good officer. The open positions are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Rochester students can hold office, too. The only pre-requisite for any candidates is that you be an ALA member when you take office.

A Good Old Fashioned Book Sorting Jamboree will be held tomorrow, Sunday 11/22, at noon in the LIS computer lab in the basement of Baldy. Free refreshments will be available to help us sort through the many boxes of books we received in the recent book drive. Not all of these books are appropriate for WNYCPC so we will be weeding the donations and routing them in the appropriate directions. All are welcome, but if you’re coming, wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and be prepared for a dusty afternoon!

Rochester Wine & Cheese Soiree will be held on Friday, December 4 at 7pm at Charlie’s house in Rochester (same location as the barbecue earlier in the fall–let’s all thank Charlie for being such a generous hostess!) Same rules apply as for the Buffalo Wine & Cheese — this event is BYO-beverage-of-choice; UB ALA will provide cheese and other snacks. Adult guests of LIS students are welcome. Please RSVP to Charlie at charlieakajennykelly[at]gmail[dot]com by Tuesday, 12/1.
