Tech Savvy 2010 Volunteering

Posted on Updated on

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Buffalo Branch will be hosting their 5th annual Tech Savvy program at the University at Buffalo North Campus. Through workshops, speakers and other activities, this event aims to “inspire girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.” With an expected audience of over 500 6th-9th grade girls and their families and teachers, it’s going to be a blast!

Read more about it here and here.

AAUW is looking for volunteers to help them manage this event, and, since multiple UB ALA members have already signed on, we’re hoping to generate interest and coordinate more volunteering. If you would like to donate some time (morning 7-12, or afternoon 11-5, or all day), please email Aimee Levesque (aml4 @ buffalo dot edu) with the information below by 10 AM, Thursday 2/25.

  1. Your phone number,
  2. Your T-shirt size,
  3. For those that graduated from college within the last two years (or will graduate within the next year), whether or not you are interested in a complimentary national AAUW membership (at a value of $66.50),
  4. If you need transportation from UB South Campus.

Hope to see you there!
