REFORMA – National Association to Promote Library & Information Services to Latinos & the Spanish-Speaking

Here’s an opportunity to attend 9 live conference sessions which you can hear from the comfort of your office or home!
The webinars will provide a live audio of the presentations. Not all of the presenters will show slides during their sessions. However, you will be able to view presentation slides if included in the webinar. As an attendee of the webinar, you will be in listen only mode.
You will be able to ask questions during the presentation. We will monitor all questions typed in the webinar’s chat box. The presenter(s) will view and answer questions after the webinar has concluded. Responses to questions will be made available on the REFORMA site at a later date.
The sessions will be recorded and archived on the REFORMA site so if you miss a session, you will have access to watch the webinar at your convenience.

Consider attending this special event: the Bobinski Lecture by Dr. David Weinberger, an influential thinker, writer, and speaker about technology, libraries, information, and ideas. Dr. Weinberger is a senior researcher at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. He is a fascinating thinker and engaging, funny speaker. He takes his audiences inside the inner workings of the Internet and shows them how it is changing business, knowledge, and even our sense of ourselves. Dr. Weinberger is a former philosophy professor, a media commentator and CNN blogger, a technology columnist, a strategic marketing consultant and a dot-com entrepreneur. He has been an advisor to several presidential campaigns, and a Franklin Fellow at the U.S. State Department. He was for four years the co-director of the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, focusing on the future of libraries. His blog, Joho the Blog, can be found at: http://www.hyperorg.com/blogger/. Dr. Weinberger is the author of Small Pieces Loosely Joined and Everything Is Miscellaneous, and is the co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto. His most recent book, Too Big to Know, is about the Internet’s effect on how and what we know.
The lecture, titled “Library as Platform,” is sponsored by an endowment from Dr. George Bobinski, former Dean of the School of Information and Library Studies and his late wife Mary Bobinski. The lecture will be followed by a reception, co-hosted by University at Buffalo Libraries and the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library. The Beta Phi Mu – Beta Delta Chapter is also sponsoring the lecture.
The lecture and reception are FREE, but space is limited and registration is required.
The Bobinski Lecture will be at 7 p.m. on March 10, 2015, at the Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Court, Buffalo, New York 14216.
